K – 8  Teaching Fellows Position
Crane’s Center for Experiential Education

Crane Country Day School is accepting applications for three full-time teaching fellows positions for the 2017-2018 school years.  The teaching fellows position is a hands-on teaching experience that combines rich professional development and mentoring with daily opportunities for practical application in the classroom.  Fellows will be fully immersed in our school community and housing will be provided for them in a beautiful furnished home adjacent to Crane School.

Applicants to Crane’s Center for Experiential Education are a diverse group of open-minded, confident, passionate individuals who find themselves at a pivotal juncture in their professional paths.  They are new to the field of teaching, whether they have recently earned a Bachelor’s Degree or completed a teacher education program.  They care deeply about children and are excited about schools and learning.

Technical Theater Director

If you love theater and enjoy being around kids, this is the job for you! Crane Country Day School is hiring a full-time Technical Theater Director. Contract to begin July 1, 2017. The first day of school is September 5, 2017. 
In addition to our traditional academic subject areas, theater has always been an integral part of Crane’s program. We are looking for someone to help support our performing arts department alongside our full-time music and drama teachers.
The Technical Theater Director’s responsibilities include supervising our beautiful 300-seat theater, overseeing 4-6 school productions per year, managing the student Tech Crew, setting up sound and lighting for school events, and maintaining theater equipment. While this is not a teaching position, the Technical Theater Director interacts with our students on a daily basis.
Successful candidates will possess the following: 
Teaching or theater experience
Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and faculty
Experience with a variety of technical equipment
High energy level and a positive attitude

An average of 16 weeks of paid breaks and holidays per year
