Sonya Wheat

From the moment I walked onto the Crane campus, I knew it was a special place. From the beauty of the campus to the wonderful community, I have never experienced such a positive and inspiring environment.

I spent six years in the technology field before coming to Crane. Although I have enjoyed providing technology solutions for homes and businesses, my passion has always been teaching children about the ever-changing world of technology.

I was born and raised in Ventura and come from a very large family. I most enjoy going to the beach, traveling, flying stunt kites, and fishing. I love dogs, fish, and frogs.

I am happy to be here at Crane and look forward to a wonderful year!

Projects

The Second graders  have Computer class once a week in the computer lab.

The Second graders made their first PowerPoint slide on their assigned State symbol.  They learned the formatting tools and how to add photos and text.  Here is a VoiceThread of their slides after they were put together.  There is sound!

The 2010-11 Second grade Class later made their first multi-slide PowerPoints. Please choose a name below to view their PowerPoints on an Endangered Animal.  They used the internet to research facts and download pictures.  They also learned more about formatting and added transitions between slides.  There is not sound. Enjoy!
