Crane Country Day School

Admissions

SignThank you for your interest in Crane Country Day School.  We are a Kindergarten through Eighth Grade independent school located on 11 beautiful acres in Montecito, California. Since opening in 1928, Crane School has been dedicated to providing an excellent education through a wide variety of courses and opportunities using hands-on experiential learning.

Upon entering our campus, one can sense the feeling of Crane’s close community. Our Upper School and Lower School classrooms share the same campus so students at all levels can interact. All students have morning recess and lunch at the same time, as well as share in the daily tradition of Assembly.

In addition to their core teachers, Crane students enjoy specialized teachers for subjects such as Spanish, art, physical education, science, computer, drama, music, and library skills.  Small class sizes allow for individual instruction and provide hands-on opportunities for academic inquiry, discovery, and growth.  Our nurturing faculty encourages exploration and investigation and work together to integrate studies throughout the curriculum.

Trip Week, Spring Study Week, Student Council, Music Hour, The Holiday Show, The Country Fair, and After-School Athletics and Discoveries Workshops are just some of the unique opportunities that our community enjoys each year.

Our students come from a variety of geographic areas: Goleta, Santa Barbara, Summerland, Carpinteria, Ventura, and Ojai.  Class sizes start at one class of twenty students in Kindergarten, and grow to three sections of approximately fifteen students by Eighth Grade.  We support our families with over $800,000 of tuition assistance given annually.

The best way to experience the Crane community is to schedule a campus tour.  We begin giving tours in October and we tour only one family at a time.  A tour usually takes about 90 minutes and is for parents only.  We strongly recommend a morning tour, so as to include our daily Assembly, which takes place at 9:45 am.  Other times for tours are also available.

Please call (805) 969-7732 x127 to schedule your tour for the 2012-2013 school year.
