I am proud to say that I have the sole distinction of being the senior faculty/staff person at Crane Country Day School. It is hard to believe that July 2012 marks my 36th year!During this time at Crane, I have taught First Grade and Second Grade, was Head of Lower School, was acting Head of School for 6 months, and now am entering my twentieth year as Crane’s Director of Admission. I was also a Crane parent for twelve years.I grew up in Orange County and found my way to Santa Barbara by way of attending UCSB for both my BA and my teaching credential. After graduating, I was determined to stay in this beautiful city. For seven years, my husband and I struggled to make it work, and boy are we glad we persevered! No matter what my role has been at Crane, I have always cherished the students, parents, and especially the collegiality of my fellow faculty and staff members. It is a very special environment to be in on a daily basis; there is no place I’d rather be! Admissions Assistant: Julia Davis (
After graduating from Westmont College, and teaching Spanish at a local private school, I found myself at Crane as the Admissions Assistant in 2008. I love working in Admissions, because it gives me the opportunity to share this unique school with inquiring families. Since joining the “staffulty” at Crane, I have been able to participate in all aspects of the Crane community. From chaperoning trip week, to teaching discoveries, to leading workshops in Spring Study Week and coaching boys' and girls' basketball, I love that Crane encourages me to go beyond my “job description.” I enjoy getting involved, so I can give first hand experience to the prospective families I talk to every day. I am thrilled to be a part of the Admissions team at this fabulous school!
