This Saturday: WISH Concert, Kids Helping Kids
The WISH Concert will take place this Saturday, April 21 at 3pm on the Crane Lawn.
Early in the school year, a group of 8th grade students decided that they wanted to help children in our local community who are facing the difficulties that come with a serious illness. They teamed up with the Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation and created an activity book for children to use while spending hours in the hospital or going through chemotherapy. They also knew that they wanted to adopt a wish for a child facing a life- threatening illness. Brainstorming led them to the idea of putting on a concert, since many of them are members of the Vibes! group.
This concert is the result of months of planning, practicing, and fundraising. This weekend, the entire 8th grade class has joined together in the commitment to make a wish come true for a child. I could not be more proud of the generosity of spirit shown by these students.
