Crane Country Day School

Crane’s Special Events

Crane’s Development Office and the Parents for Crane (PFC) association welcome the time and talents of the many volunteers to make these three annual events successful.

The Crane Country Fair (late October)

The Crane Country FairThe fair is a fun-filled day of games and activities for children aged approximately 3 to 13 years old. The event includes a raffle, food, a cake walk, a homemade foods sale, and fair-specific merchandise. Each class sponsors at least one booth or activity, and additional booths are planned and run by supplementary parent volunteers.  The Country Fair is primarily a community-building event, but all proceeds support the school’s operations budget.

Grandparents’ Tea (January)

Grandparents TeaIn January 2011, a new tradition was born – a tea for Grandparents and Special Friends that takes place just prior to the Annual Open House and Art Show. Grandparents and Special Friends are invited to spend time eating and visiting with their grandchild(ren) and have a photo taken. They are then invited to participate in the school’s traditional Open House activities, which include visiting classrooms, viewing the Art Show, and attending a special student performance.

Spring Benefit (early May)

auctionThe themed Spring Benefit is a fundraising gala featuring a silent and live auction, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, a raffle, a sit-down dinner, a paddle raise “ask,” and music and dancing. Past themes have been Our Passage to India, A 3-Hour Tour, All You Need is LOVE, and, most recently, Come As You Were. The theme for the 2012 benefit will be Casino Royale. Proceeds from the Benefit support Crane’s operations budget.
